With the new CCH online research addition, Drake offers everything the professional preparer needs – right at his fingertips. Whether you are searching for information on EITC qualifications, the Electric Vehicle Credit, or looking for recapture rules on Section 1250 property held since 1959, the CCH Internet Tax Research Network, in conjunction with the Drake Software Support website, gives you what you need. Searches include the CCH Master Tax Guide™, Internal Revenue Code, IRS Pubs, court cases and more, making this an incredible tool for the tax professional. And Drake Software customers receive FREE access to it all.

It’s Simple to Use
You can access the CCH research tools by logging in to support.drakesoftware.com, or it’s only mouse click away from within Drake Software. Once you are logged in, select the option in the left frame called CCH Tax Research. Click on the Federal tab, then select the publications and documents through which you would like to search. Enter your search criteria, and click on Search. The top documents matching your criteria are displayed in ranked order with a brief description of each. Select the document you want to view. It’s that simple.

The search is VERY intuitive, even intelligent. For example, when you search on “auto mileage,” the CCH search engine searches “auto” and “mileage,” as well as 13 other terms, including automobile, car, company car, fleet, limousine, truck, and vehicle! It then gives you the top documents/articles from which you can choose.

If you want to simply browse a particular publication, you can do that as well. On the Federal tab, simply choose the document. Its Table of Contents is displayed, and you can click on chapters, then subchapters (if applicable), ultimately navigating to the specific page you want to view. This includes the entire CCH Master Tax Guide™, the entire Internal Revenue Code, Internal Revenue Regulations, IRS pubs, court cases, and more.

You can even personalize the way the site works for you, including keeping a history of your searches. User preferences are set via a simple menu, and there is an Advanced Search option that allows you to be more specific, better targeting your exact question.
