| New for 2005!
Drake Software is constantly looking for ways to enhance our products and meet your needs. Based on customer
feedback, we have added several new features this year. Here is a sneak peek at some exciting new features for the
2005 program.
“We feel that Drake is the best value in tax software; period. Each year we add features to the program,
and unlike some of our competitors, we don’t charge extra for any of them. I am very excited about the
new features we have for 2005. Our goal is to make this upcoming tax season the easiest and most profitable
ever for Drake customers.” James Stork, Vice President of Tax Development
Tax Planner
“The Tax Planner allows tax preparers to determine the best course of action in a variety of business situations.
Up to seven years of tax projections and a number of what-if scenarios are available. Various reports will make it
easy to explain what’s next for the taxpayer.” Kerri Gibson, CPA, Business Analyst
Document Management System
“The Document Management System will allow tax preparers to store and organize client-related documents
electronically. Not only will Drake client files be organized, but other related documents, such as W-2 and
Social Security cards, can be scanned and saved in the same file. The Document Management System will save time
and money related to filing, managing, storing, and retrieving tax returns and other client related information.
”John Gibson, EA, Software Programmer
Client Status Manager
“The Client Status Manager will help with practice management. In addition to demographic information, it will also
display billing information and return status. Tax preparers will be able to get a better snap shot of their clients
with the Client Status Manager. This information will be combined into a single database that can be accessed in a
multi-office environment ”Bob Bennett, CPA, Business Analyst
Electronic Filing Additions
“We understand how important electronic filing is to our customers. As the states and IRS expand their offerings,
so will we. For 2005, we will offer electronic filing for 940EZ, 941, 990, and 1041returns. Sixteen states have
indicated a strong interest in participating in the 1120/1120S federal and state e-file program next year. Drake
plans to support all participating states. Of course, this is all in addition to the free and unlimited federal
and state electronic filing Drake has been offering for years.
”Jamie Stiles, Vice President of Electronic Filing and Banking
