Tax Development Spotlight

Ashraf Patel is a member of Drake Software’s development team. Originally from Baroda, India, he moved to the United States in 2001. Ashraf received a bachelor of engineering in electronics from Sardar Vallabhbhai Regional Engineering College in Surat, India. He received a masters of engineering in automatic control of robotics from Maharaja Savajirao University in Baroda. He has also taken Cisco Certified Network Associate classes at Tri-County Community College in Murphy, North Carolina.

Ashraf has been with Drake for three years. He programs individual, fiduciary, partnership, corporate, and s-corporate software for the states of Massachusetts, New Mexico, and Tennessee. This year, he has done extensive work for the Massachusetts business electronic filing program as well.

Ashraf and his wife, Rehana, have two children: Aaliyah, 3, and Muhammad, 2. He enjoys spending time with his family, watching good movies, traveling, reading, and playing games such as cricket.

Working with friendly people and in a challenging, supportive environment is what Ashraf values most about working at Drake. His coworkers enjoy working with him too. Lorelei Rochester, a fellow programmer, said, "Ashraf is the best. He is extremely knowledgeable and an excellent role model for our office. He is diligent in his profession and has the highest regard for his employer and coworkers. He is very well thought of and respected."
