DRAKE SOFTWARE LEADS TAX PREPARATION CATEGORY FOR SECOND YEAR IN A ROW
In The CPA Technology Advisor’s Readers’ Choice Awards

EDITOR’S NOTE: Drake Software’s loyal following among users was once again reflected in the recent Readers’ Choice Awards conducted by The CPA Technology Advisor magazine, a leading accounting profession magazine published by Cygnus Business Media.

“The voting in some categories shows a strong base of user support for particular brands and products,” Technology Editor Isaac M. O’Bannon wrote. “An example of this is Drake Software, whose tax compliance system won the professional tax preparation category for the second year in a row. Drake’s actual market share is about 10 percent, but its customer base remains one of the most loyal and satisfied of any tech product.”

In the Federal/State Income Tax Compliance Programs category, the magazine noted that many firms have been able to adopt new technologies to increase the number of clients they can service with the same staff and speed up processing. “As with last year, Drake Software’s loyal base of tax professionals showed up in force, helping the company take first place with more than 30 percent of respondents,” The CPA Technology Advisor noted. This was almost the total of the next two most popular programs combined.

Form 4136 Announcement
The IRS has announced that as a result of the recent enactment of the Tax Technical Corrections Act of 2007, form 4136 Credit for Federal Tax Paid on Fuels, will NOT be eligible for electronic filing this year.  Visit DrakeSoftware.com or irs.gov for updates on when the form will be accepted electronically.
